Being A Better Person

"Being A Better Person" by John S LES

Narcissism and prejudice do not always go hand in hand, but generally feed each other inside the psyche of a negative person.  These are two very dark and destructive energies.  When you add a social or spiritual enlightenment to such a person, instead of dissolving these two dark behaviors, that religion can often just mask either of the original two problems.  Even worse, sometimes enlightenment can exacerbate those negative energies within a person.

It's no wonder that it is a fairly common social belief that some people with tattoos and piercings tend to be more tolerant and open than people who are staunchly religious or spiritually guided and very rigid about dress code.

We must not forget that for many centuries religion was used as a tool to commit genocide and promote national interests.  Today many spiritual adherents are more moderate and more tolerant of others.  Yet extremists arise every so often and commit violent acts of murder in the name of their particular belief and interpretation of their beliefs.  Whoever doesn't fit this belief is regulated to being of lessor value than the believer.

Have we forgotten that we are all from and of this earth?  Have we forgotten that religion is suppose to attract and adhere to noble causes, rather than become a tool for murder and mayhem?  No matter how a murderer tries to justify it - killing an innocent and defenseless people is wrong.  Using religion or some spiritual enlightenment to put others down says more about the individual who is engaging in this behavior, then it does about the person who is the target of that person's vexation.

Use your spiritual beliefs to help heal, educate and better understand others outside of your beliefs - rather than detesting them for not being of the same beliefs as you.  Help elevate our world in this 21st century.  Try to truly work on being a better person.  All you have to do...is just share and being willing to accept others...as we all are...flawed and fragile human beings...
